All set for Anjaneya’s grama vastavya in Mururu

Udupi, Dec 31, 2016: The authorities are leaving no stone unturned to make the grama vastavya programme of Social Welfare Minister H. Anjaneya to be held here on Saturday, a success.

The Kalthodu Gram Panchayat, under whose jurisdiction Mururu village comes, has also fully involved itself in this work.

As per the tentative programme, Mr. Anjaneya will arrive at Mururu at 11.30 a.m. And, the Minister will distribute various facilities to the members of the Koraga community.

“We expect beneficiaries of the Koraga community from Kundapur taluk if not the entire district to attend the function,” said Harish Gaonkar, in-charge Project Director of Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP) Department.

A shamiana has already been put up at Mururu for this function. Lunch will be provided to all those who attend this function.

After the function, the members of the Koraga community would present a cultural function for about half-an-hour. This would be followed by lunch.

After lunch, Mr. Anjaneya would participate in an interaction programme at the same venue at around 2.30 p.m. and this is expected to go on till 6 p.m. A mobile toilet too has been set up at the venue.

After that Mr. Anjaneya will take up his grama vastavya at Marli Koraga’s house in the hamlet. Ms. Koraga and her four daughters said that they had planned to cook chappatis, boiled rice, belesaaru, a suppina palya and a vegetable palya for the Minister for dinner.

“Since its New Year’s Eve, we will also prepare Kadalebele Sabbakki Payasa. We will use vegetables from our own garden for cooking,” Gulabi Koraga, Ms. Marli’s daughter, said.

After staying at Ms. Marli’s house overnight, Mr. Anjaneya would leave the hamlet at around 8 a.m. on Sunday. There is excitement among the people of the hamlet that Mr. Anjaneya is staying there.
