All BPL card holders to get LPG connections

Mangalore, Aug 15, 2014: Deputy Commissioner A.B. Ibrahim has informed that the commissioner of the food department has instructed the district administration to ensure LPG connections to all BPL ( Non-LPG) card holders and make Mangalore City Corporation as a kerosene-free zone.

A.B. IbrahimThe DC further said the MCC will take steps to provide LPG connections to BPL card holders concerned utilizing the 22.75% fund reserve for SC/ST welfare, 7.25 % meant for low income families and 3% available fund for welfare of disabled.

He also said that kerosene supplies to fair price shops will be stopped within the next two months and the city will be declared kerosene-free zone.

The BPL card holders in Puttur, Ullal and Moodabidre TMCs, Mulki, Belthangady, Sullia and Bantwal Town Panchayats too have been asked to take  steps in this direction. More details can be had by contacting the Deputy Director of food and civil supplies department
