Agonised over theft charges, student ends life

Kasargod, Mar 30, 2014 : In a tragic incident, a 19 year old college student hailing from Uduma Pakyar, who had attempted suicide after she was charged with theft, breathed her last at a hospital in Mangalore on March 29, Saturday.

The deceased is Shamseena (19), a second year degree student. It has been gathered that Shamseena was blamed after the mobile phone of one of her classmates was found stolen two weeks ago. To  make matters worse, some even made allegations against her on Facebook.

A deeply agonised Shamseena had attempted suicide by hanging herself at her house on March 19. Though she was rushed to a private hospital at Kanhangad and later to a hospital in Mangalore where she continued to remain critical, doctors could not save her life.

Bekal police  are investigating the case.
