After rain holidays, schools asked to conduct classes on weekends

Mangaluru, Aug 19 2019: The Department of Public Instructions has asked all schools and colleges in the district to conduct classes   on  Saturday afternoons and Sundays  in  order to make up for the loss of classes due to the recent  holidays declared on account of heavy rains and floods. A similar measure was taken last year too.

The Department has also asked schools not to force students from areas which suffered  damage to roads and bridges to attend the additional classes. Schools in flood hit areas should  commence only after the engineers inspect the building and ascertain that they are safe

 The Department has also said that in case it is decided to conduct classes on Saturday afternoons, then additional classes will be held for ten days on Saturdays.
