Adyar-Harekala vented dam cum bridge construction within two years : Minister Puttaraju

Mangaluru, Sep 14 2018:  State Minister for Minor Irrigation Puttaraju has informed that the construction of the vented dam cum  bridge  between Adyar-Harekala would be completed within two years once the tender process is complete.

He was speaking to reporters after conducting a site inspection at Harekala Pavoor Kadavu on the banks of river Netravathi  on Friday.

Stating that a bridge in the area was a long standing demand of the people of the locality, the minister informed that the proposed bridge would come up at a cost of Rs 174 crores.  He also assured that the government would suitably compensate those who would lose their lands due to the project.

The water stored in the dam would be used for agricultural and drinking purposes, the Minister informed.
