Adyar Gram Panchayat Member brutally attacked ; succumbs to injuries

Bantwal, July 11, 2020:   Adyar Gram Panchayat President Yaqub who was brutally  attacked by a gang  on July 10, Friday has  succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital later in the night.

 

 It is learnt that a  group had launched an attack on Yaqub near Adyar at around 9 pm. It has also been gathered that one of the assailants was an acquaintance of Yaqub and was  residing at Adyar Padavu some time back.

The  exact motive behind this attack was not known. Yaqub who returned home had left in an autorickshaw with his son to a private hospital for treatment. However, he breathed his last there.
 Mangaluru Rural police have registered a case of murder and  are investigating the case.

Yaqub was a BJP supported Panchayat Member. A personal enmity and some political factor is suspected to be the reason behind  the attack.
