Activists threatening to enter Udupi Mutt are agents of Muslims and Christians: Muthalik

Mangaluru Oct 19, 2016: Sri Rama Sene Chief Pramod Muthalik took potshots at social activists who condemned the Pankthi Bheda at Udupi Krishna Mutt and have threatened to lay siege to  the  mutt demanding to stop the practice. Muthalik said that, "social activists who threaten to enter Udupi Mutt are the agents of Muslim and Christian Community."

Addressing Media prior to  appearing before the court today October 19, Wednesday, he said that those who try to lay siege to  Udupi mutt demanding to stop such practices will end up in jail. Udupi Mutt is striving for communal harmony and equality from past several years and there is no such Pankthi Bheda in Udupi mutt, he said.  The activists who speak about Temples are not courageous enough to talk about what is happening in mosques and churches, Muthalik said.

When asked about the Tippu Jayanthi, Muthalik said that  last year the controversial decision of the  government to celebrate Tippu Jayanthi led to riot in the  entire state."It was a foolish decision to celebrate Tippu Jayanthi, if not been opposed Congress government may celebrate even Osama Bin Laden jayanthi, he said and urged the government to  immediately withdraw Tipu Jayanthi which is stated to be celebrated on November 10th.

 When asked about exiling Pakistani actors, he said "we strongly discourage the performance of Pakistan actors and singers." Karan Johar’s movie ’Ae Dil Hain Mushkil’ which stars Pakistan Actor Fawad Khan will not be allowed  to be screened in the state, he said.
