Acid attack: Man held by Kadaba police

Mangaluru, Jan 25, 2020:  A man who had thrown acid on his sister-in-law and his neice was arrested by Kadaba police on Friday.

 

The arrested is Jayananda Kotari. A dispute over financial and land issues between Kotari and his sister-in-law Swapna, a widow, took an ugly turn in Kodimbala, near Kadaba, on Thursday. Kotari in a fit of rage threw acid on Swapna and on her daughter. Police sources said the acid used for making rubber was thrown on both the mother and daughter.

Swapna and her daughter were rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru. Sources in police station said Swapna after the death of her husband was residing separately, along with her three daughters.
