Mangaluru, Feb 25 2020: Ace Kambala jockey Srinivas Gowda who recently hit the headlines after he clocked better than Usain Bolt’s record in 100 meters, while racing at the slushy Kambala fields, is expected to join training at the Sports Authority of India at Bengaluru in April.
He is likely to get initial training at Swaraj Maidan in Moodbidri. He will be trained in running on the tracks by expert trainers.
Sports Authority of India south India director Ajay Kumar Behl and two other officials who visited the Anna Thamma Kambala held at Paivalike last weekend, spoke to Gowda and convinced him to attend the SAI training. SAI coaches Harish and Kurien P Mathew were also present.
The Kambala season of the year ends on March 7. Gowda is likely to visit SAI for training after taking some rest after the end of Kambala season.
