Academies must keep politics at bay : ex-minister B A Moidin

Mangaluru, August 13, 2017: The different academies constituted by the state government aim at promoting the respective language, culture and art. They should never be a shelter place for politics, said former minister B A Moidin.

He was speaking after releasing  a book "Hakeekat" providing information on the three year achievements of the Academy. Five other Beary literary works were also released at a function held in the city on  August 12, Saturday under the aegis of the Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy.

No scope should be given for the misuse of the Academy, he further added.

The other literary works  released at the function are: A Beary Fellowship thesis in Beary and Kannada languages by six students of different colleges, "Beary Quiz-2017" by Hamza Malar, a collection of stories "Manikyattokall,’’ by K Y Abdul Hameed Kukkaje, "Madr Seekg Marand" by Safiya Banu Ullal and "Naati Marand" by Mariam Ismail Ullalbail.
