At  a demonstration at Panambur, enthusiastic visitors rode a few ATVs equipped with handlebars as well as steering wheels.

Navnit’s Business Head Ramakrishnan said that they would start with Sportsman 500 and Scrambler 500 models manufactured by Polaris, ATV manufacturer from the US. Though riding an ATV is akin to a motorcycle or a car, the rider has to maintain the balance. Chief Executive of Panambur Beach Project Yatish Baikampady  said that the ATVs are being tested along beaches in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

Tests were conducted in Malpe and Mulky  to check the suitability of vehicles.  He said  movement of ATVs in the area filled by people would be in selected tracks. Moreover, the organisers are planning to have beach trails of ATVs, operating between two beaches.  Only after the trial of the vehicles, the ATVs would be introduced. Pricing is to be set later on.
