He also said that though Oscar Fernandes has  assured to conduct meeting with Chief Minister, the latter has failed to  hold any such meeting. The Government has failed to  show concern towards the interests of  people of Dakshina Kannada, he alleged.

"Students should continue their agitation until government decides to stop Yettinahole project. The government is playing with nature  and it will have to face the consequences," Swamiji further added.

President of Nethravathi Rakshana Samyuktha Samithi Vijay Kumar Shetty said that students in Mangaluru have proved that student power is nation’s power by this raasta roko protest. In case the project is not withdrawn then a need will arise for a separate Tulu Naadu, he said..

"Some of the officials have received kick backs for the implementation of Yettinahole project. MLA JR Lobo, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Shakuntala Shetty have given equal support but District in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai has shown  no concern  towards the people of Dakshina Kannada," said Vijay Kumar.

"Students should stand against corruption and eliminate it from the root level," he said and requested people to join hands to raise their voice to save river Nethravathi.

Dinaker Shetty, Dinesh Holla, Praveen Valke, Anand Adyar, Ashwith Kottari, Amith Rao  and others were present.
