A college degree alone can’t provide success

Mangaluru, Aug 26, 2019: A college degree certificate alone is not sufficient to get employment in this competitive world, said Manipal Global Education President T V Mohandas Pai. He was speaking at the graduation ceremony of SDM PG Centre for Management Studies and Research held at TMA Pai Hall.

“Degree certificate is like a gate pass to enter the organisations that offer employment. Students should equip themselves with skills. One can’t achieve success by depending on degree alone.” He added.

He also said, “A large number of graduates pass out in the country every year. There is stiff competition for employment. Infosys gets an average of 30 lakh applications every year seeking employment. After the scrutiny of these applications, exams are conducted for 50,000 aspirants. Of which, only a few thousands get employment.”
