A V Raman appointed as the Chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust

Mangaluru, Jun11, 2019:  A V Ramana, Deputy Chairman of Cochin Port  Trust has been appointed as the Chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust(NMPT) by Ministry of Shipping, Govt of India with immediate effect.He took over charge from Dr M Beena IAS June 11, Tuesday.

 

 

A V Raman is ME(Mechanical) From BITS Pilani.Prior to Cochin Port Trust he was Chief Mechanical and Electrical Engineer in Kolkata Port Trust.He was instrumental in facilitating intergrated container operations through Own Operate and Manitain(OOM) model.He worked as Chief Administrative Officer, Indian Ports Association and Deputy Director, Indian Maritime University.

Having an experience of 26 years in Port sector, he was associated with Sethusamudram Public Hearing Comittee, member of Chennai based technical commitee reagarding infrastructural issues related to Indian  Maritime University(IMU)and also associated with preparation of Statue for IMU.
