9Kg cannabis seized at New Mangalore Port

Mangaluru, Sep 15, 2017: Customs officers on Sept 14,Thursday seized nine kg of cannabis concealed in an empty container in New Mangalore Port. According to sources, the customs sleuths, acting on information passed on,  searched a long empty-container in which they recovered packets of cannabis. The empty container was part of the shipment from Colombo.

The official said this was for the first time that the Customs sleuths seized cannabis from the port. The sleuths are investigating as to how those involved in the act could gain access to the containers that are in a secured area.
