83 fresh Covid-19 positive cases in DK, 28 cases in Udupi on July 7

Mangaluru, July 7, 2020: 83 people from Dakshina Kannada and 28 people from Udupi tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, July 7. One more death was reported in DK today.

Out of the 83 cases reported in DK, Two inter-district returnees, 20 were categorised as cases of influenza like illness (ILI), one case of SARI and 50 are primary contacts of other patients. Three sample was collected pre-surgery, three samples pre-surgery before delivery, three are random samples and 3 patients contact tracing is under process.

As many as 99 patients recovered were discharged from hospital on Tuesday. With today’s 83 cases, the total Covid 19 positive cases in the DK district rose to 1,359. As many as 683 persons have been discharged and 26 deaths have occurred.

Udupi district has reported 28 fresh cases on Tuesday. Among them, 12 are primary contacts of other positive patients, two each have travel history to Maharashtra and Mangaluru, four from Bengaluru, one from Tumakuru, one from Dubai and the contact tracing of six others is under process.

Now, the Udupi district has a total of 1,390 cases with 205 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 1,154 patients recovered and discharged including 28 discharges today. The district has reported three COVID-19 fatality.
