6 yr old girl meets tragic end as jeep takes sudden reverse

Belthangady, Dec 6, 2015: A six year old girl met a tragic end in a road mishap near Pilikala Pumphouse at Neriya on December 13, Sunday.

The deceased girl is Swasti, daughter of Raghava Gowda of Karpaje near Miyar. Swasti along with her sister Sanvi and father were on way to Neriya to attend a religious function at their mother’s maternal home. It is learnt, the jeep driven by Perana Gowda had stopped near the pump house to pick up two more persons attending the ceremony. The girls who were seated next to their father were asked to sit on the rear seat. Swasti was standing to climb the jeep even as Sanvi was climbing the jeep when the vehicle all of a sudden took to reverse crushing Swasti under it. Sanvi was also injured.

The deceased girl was a first standard student. A case has been registered by Belthangady Police.
