5 members of Kasargod family killed in road mishap in Andhra

Kasargod, Jan 18, 2018: Six people, including five members of a family from Kasargod, were killed today when the car they were travelling in met with an accident in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh.

The mishap took place at about 2.30 AM when the car rammed into a culvert near Mallepalle in Veldurthi Mandal in Kurnool, a senior police official said.

P D Robin (35), hailing from Delampady village in Kasaragod district, his father (60) and mother (54), his wife, around 30 years of age, and their four-month-old son died on the spot in the accident, he said.

The car driver, Pawan, was also killed in the mishap.

They were returning from Kottayam, from where Robin’s wife hailed, after "baptism" of their son, to Makhtal village in Telangana’s Mahabubunagar district, where he runs a school, a family friend said.

Robins had started been running a school in Mahabubnagar of Andhra Pradesh for the past 15 years. About one-and-a-half-years ago, he got married to Bismol of Kottayam. The entire family had been to Kottayam for the baptism ceremony of the couple’s child which was held on Sunday January 17. After the ceremony, the family left for Mahabubnagar the same night. Robins had established Kerala Techno High School in Mahabubnagar after finishing his studies.

Family sources said that the mortal remains would be brought to Delampady after post-mortem.
