5 held for ‘celebrating’ URA’s death

Mangalore, Aug 27, 2014: The Kadri police have arrested five persons who had allegedly ‘celebrated’ the death of litterateur UR Ananthamurthy, at public place near Kadri-Mallikatta, on August 26. Two among them were also involved in a case of manhandling a person in cattle trafficking incident at Pumpwell earlier.

Police stated, the accused are K B Manoj (34) of Ujjodi, Vijesh (22) of Shaktinagar and Sharath (20) of Amblamogar. All are from Bajaranga Dal and Manoj is an accused in the murder of a Muslim religious leader, at Goonadka of Sullia, in 2006.

Two others Anil and Umesh have been arrested related to manhandling case. In total, five persons have been arrested related to the incident, a police personnel said.
