4 of family dead as car plunges into road side lake

Puttur, September 2, 2019:  Four  members of a family lost their lives when the car in which they were travelling went out of control of the driver and fell into a road side lake at Kavu on the Mysuru state highway on September 2, Monday.

The deceased are Ashok, a native of Suntikoppa, his wife Hemalatha and children Yashas and Varsha.

The mishap occurred when the couple and their two children were returning after visiting Mangaluru. The body of the deceased has been shifted to Puttur government hospital.

It may be recalled here that there had been  vehement demand by locals since some time to close this dangerous road side lake. It is learnt the lake belonged to a local person who was unwilling to close it down.
