4 deaths, 73 new Covid-19 positive cases in DK; 53 cases in Udupi on July 15

Mangaluru, July 15, 2020: 73 people from Dakshina Kannada and 53 people from Udupi tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. Four more Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in the DK district today.

Out of the 73 cases reported in DK, 23 were cases of influenza like illness (ILI), 3 cases of SARI, 3 have international travel history, one has inter-district travel history, 11 are primary contacts of other patients and contact tracing of 32 patients is under process.

As many as 107 patients were discharged from hospital today. With today’s 73 cases, the total Covid 19 positive cases in the DK district rose to 2,525. As many as 1,089 persons have been discharged and 57 deaths have occurred including four deaths today.

Udupi district has reported 53 fresh cases on Wednesday. Among them, 16 cases of influenza like illness (ILI), two with inter-district travel history, two travelled from Mumbai and 33 primary contacts of other patients.

Now, the Udupi district has a total of 1,786 cases with 401 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 1,382 patients recovered and discharged including 23 on Wednesday. The district has reported five COVID-19 fatality.
