Subair murder ...

It may be recalled here that 45 year old Zubair was hacked to death and another person was injured after bike-borne masked men attacked the duo with lethal weapons outside Mukkacheri Masjid, near Ullal on Wednesday, October 4,

The BJP had alleged that Zubair was targeted by members of a drug mafia and its members had been harassed by the police. Further they demanded resignation of Khader on moral grounds alleging that the murder was carried out by aides of Ilyas, a youth Congress worker, who is also a close confidante of the minister. The local BJP unit staged a protest outside the Ullal police station on Thursday demanding arrest of Zubair’s perpetrators.

Preliminary investigations by the police however indicated the involvement of one Altaf, a member of ‘target gang’, who suspected that Zubair was instrumental in the cops invoking a Goonda Act against him. The target gang used to blackmail the rich people by taking their pictures in compromising position.
