34 new Covid-19 positive cases in DK, 40 cases in Udupi on July 6

Mangaluru, July 6, 2020: 34 people from Dakshina Kannada and 40 people from Udupi tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, July 6. Two more Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in the DK district today, thus taking the tally to 25.

Out of the 75 cases reported in DK, 9 were categorised as cases of influenza like illness (ILI), one case of SARI and 17 are primary contacts of other patients. One sample was collected pre-surgery, four samples pre-surgery before delivery and one person’s contact tracing is under process.

As many as 30 patients were discharged from hospital on Monday. With today’s 34 cases, the total Covid 19 positive cases in the DK district rose to 1,276. As many as 584 persons have been discharged and 25 deaths have occurred including two deaths today.

Udupi district has reported 40 fresh cases on Monday. Now, the Udupi district has a total of 1,362 cases with 205 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 1,154 patients recovered and discharged. The district has reported three COVID-19 fatality.
