31 families have been compensated: DC V. Ponnuraj

Mangalore, Jul 18: DC V. Ponnuraj issued a press release stating that 31 families of the victims of the May 22 plane crash have already received the state government’s compensation of Rs. 2 lakh each and that Rs. 62 lakh has already been given away as compensation.

The state government had released compensation for the families of 108 plane crash victims from the CM’s relief fund. The claimants are required to submit an application form along with required documents at the DC’s office. The regional commissioner of Mysore division has been assigned the authority to attest the death certificates, post mortem reports, and other essential documents till Aug 4.

The DC says that the authorities will reject all applications that reach his office after that date.
