3 year-old boy dies falling into a pond in Kundapur

Udupi, Dec 25: A boy aged 3 years fell into a pond and dies in Moorukai near Basrur on Thursday, December 25, 2014.

The boy named Abhilash aged 3, is the son of Venkatesh and Indira Devadiga, hailing from BC Road, Kundapur. The boy had gone out to play with other children when the family was celebrating Naming ceremony of his younger brother. The family members were engrossed with guests who had come for the function. They were unaware of the boy going out with others.

Later, they had realized Abhilash absence for long time. His parents searched for him everywhere in panic but could not find him. Some children from the neighbourhood led them to the nearby pond where they found the boy sinking. Though he was rushed to the hospital, he died on the way. It is believed that he might have fallen to the pond accidently.
