3 from Ullal arrested for arecanut theft in Badiadka

Kasargod July 03, 2016 : Three persons from Ullal who had stolen arecanuts and other farm produce kept in the shed  close by the residence of  a person named Yunus  at  Badiadka were arrested on July 2, Saturday at Ullal.

 

Those  arrested are  Abdurehman (58) from Nellikatte, Umarul Farooq (44) from Jokatte and Mohammed Hanif (45).

The three had stolen arecanut on June 23. Just when they were  ready to transport them in an Innova car which they had hired the occupants of the house had woken up. Though the trio had managed to flee in the car, the RC of the vehicle had fallen on the road while they hurried to escape.

Based on this RC the  police found that the car was hired from Ullal and the three were subsequently arrested.

Of the three, Abdurrehman had several cases registered against him in  Kasargod as well as Dakshina Kannada.
