3-day Saroj Madhu Kala Utsav 2009 inaugurated

Mangalore, November 20: The 3-day Saroj Madhu Kala Utsav 2009, a series of inter-school/collegiate competitions organized by Sarojini Madhusudhan Kushe Educational Institutions, was inaugurated today at Sarojini Madhusudan Kushe School, PVS Baug, Attavar, Mangalore.

The event will include competitions in Bharathnatyam, Yakshagana, Rangoli, drawing, Eastern Singing (solo), Eastern Singing (group), Shree Krishna Sara, folk dance, and bhajan. Students from Udupi, Kasargod, and Dakshina Kannada are participating in these events. The event will come to an end on Nov 22.

Madhusudhan D Kushe and Sarojini M Kushe, the founders and managing trustees of Sarojini Madhusudan Kushe Educational Trust, formally inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp and wishing the participants well. They also honored the judges of the various events.

Uday Kumar Shetty, the founder trustee of Kalatheera, Bangalore, presided over the function. Suresh Raj, the correspondent of SMKEI, and K K Upadyaya, the principal of SMKEI, were the dignitaries on the dais.
