3 cops of Subrahmanya to face action for ill-treating youth in station

Mangaluru, Jan 01, 2018:  District Superintendent of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy has informed that disciplinary action would be initiated  against the  Station House in-charge, head constable and a constable of Subrahmanya Police Station  for ill-treating a  youth at the station.

 

The move follows a video footage that went viral and which  showed a  young woman revealing the police brutality.

After the youth was reportedly seen in the company of a girl of another faith in Subrahmanya, the locals had intimated the police who took the girl to questioning when it came to light that she had come from home without informing her family and that a case of missing has also been filed y her family.

Meanwhile, the youth was also summoned when the  police reportedly ill-treated him.  The girl had posed a video message regarding  this following which the SP took suo moto cognizance of the case.
