3,178 Akrama-Sakrama applications cleared in DK : Rai at KDP meet

Mangaluru, Nov 01, 2015: Speaking at the tri-monthly KDP meeting here on Oct 31,   District In-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai, said that the State government has extended the last date for submitting applications seeking regularisation of houses on government land in rural areas under Section 94C of the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, till December 2015.

 

He said that maximum area acquired to be regularised has also been extended from five cents to nine cents.  The process of scrutiny of applications to issue possession certificates to the applicants needs to be taken up. DK district has received 49,563 applications under 94C and a total of 3,178 applications have been disposed off.

DK DC Adoor B Ibrahim said that there are instances where beneficiaries after having received the sanction letter for the sites under various housing schemes have failed to reside there. Sanction letter of such beneficiaries needs to be cancelled if the present owner of the land had applied under section 94C, then the title deed should be handed over to him by cancelling the title deed of the previous beneficiary.

Thumbay dam :  Minister Rai directed Assistant Commissioner, Mangaluru division to provide details on the areas to be submerged with the completion of second vented dam at Thumbay.  During the initial survey, about 276 acre land was identified. However, when the farmers’ representatives complained that more area of land will be submerged, Deputy Commissioner had directed the MCC and the Revenue Department to conduct resurvey to assess the area that would be submerged. The minister directed the officials to complete the survey at the earliest.

DC said that the government should take an early decision on expansion of runway of Mangaluru International Airport, as the Kannur International Airport will be inaugurated in December, which might affect the traffic of Mangaluru airport.

For the expansion of the runway, the MIA had initially sought 289.335 acres of land in its letter dated February 12, 2014. To rehabilitate the families residing on the land, an estimate of Rs 121.05 crore was prepared. Later, the MIA wrote to the district administration seeking 84.65 acre land, to take up runway expansion in a phased manner. As the MIA already has 23 acre land in it, the estimate for the acquisition of remaining land has been estimated at Rs 45 crore. The estimate has been submitted to the Infrastructure department to take a final decision on land acquisition.

 The DK DC  directed the Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner to fill potholes on the major roads in the city.

Phase  2 of Shiradi roads: District In-charge Minister Ramanath Rai directed NH officials to prepare an alternative plan to take up the work on second phase of Shiradi Ghat, without closing the road. Closure of the road which connects Port City to Bengaluru and other areas will cause severe inconvenience to the road users.

Under the second phase, road from Gulagalale to Maranahalli will be asphalted and Kempuhole to Addahole will be concretised.  Revised estimate of Rs 113.78 crore for the second phase of the work has been submitted to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for approval.  The work order will be given to the contractor once the estimate gets approval from the Ministry it was stated.
