29 Urusuline Franciscan sisters pronounce final vows

Mangalore, Apr 28, 2012 : The Ursuline Franciscan Congregation consecrated 29 sisters from Mangalore, North East India, Northern provinces, Tanzania, and Mysore after subjecting them to an intense four-month preparation.

Twenty of these sisters had their perpetual profession on April 26 Thursday at Holy Rosary Convent Chapel in Jeppu, Mangalore.

They pronounced their final vows in the presence of Sr. Doreen D’Souza, the superior general of the congregation and Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the bishop of Mangalore.

The consecration ceremony was followed by a felicitation program presided over by Sr. Doreen D’Souza. Sr. Alice Noronha, who was with these sisters during their intense preparation program, was honored.

Six of these sisters took their vows in Mysore on April 21 at St. Peter’s Church in Bogadi. Three sisters from the North East pronounced their vows on April 26 at Assissi Convent Chapel in Dimapur in Nagaland.


The congregation has congratulated these sisters and prayed God’s manifold blessings into their lives.
