28 Covid-19 cases reported in Karnataka, tally climbs to 651

Bengaluru, May 04, 2020: Karnataka reported 28 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Monday, taking the total number of infected to 651. The newly infected include 13 women, two of who are senior citizens, Times of India reprted.

Twenty one of the new cases are from Davanagere district alone. Of them, 18 are the contacts of a 33-year-old Covid-19 positive woman and include a six-year-old-boy. Two others are contacts of another Covid-19 patient from the district. A 38-year-old-man with Influenza like Illness (ILI) has also tested positive for coronavirus. Davanagere’s positive cases has now shot up from 10 to 31.

For the first time, Haveri district, which hitherto was in green zone reporting no cases, has witnessed its first Covid-19 case. A 32-year-old man with travel history to Mumbai and from Savanur taluk is the patient.

Two of the new cases are from Kalaburagi and one Vijayapura. A 37-year-old man from Kalaburagi with travel history to Hyderabad has been found positive for Covid-19.

No fresh cases were reported from Bengaluru and Mysuru.
