27th Swachh Mangaluru Abhiyan accomplished Nov 22, Sunday

Mangaluru, Nov 23, 2015: Ramakrishna Mission on Nov 22, Sunday, accomplished the 27th Swachh Mangaluru Abhiyan on P M Rao Road - G H S Road - Sharavu Temple area.  Dr Subramanya Padyana, dean, Alva’s Ayurvedic Medical College, Moodbidri and Ramesh Mallya, well-wisher of the ashrama flagged off drive in the presence of Swami Jitakamanandaji, president, Ramakrishna Math. MRPL, principal patron of the event sponsored the drive.

 

SwachhAbout 120 volunteers, devotees and well-wishers of the Mission, NSS students and staff of Alvas’ Ayurvedic Medical College, Moodbidri, and students of Ganapathi College took part in the abhiyan. Volunteers were divided into four groups under the guidance of MLC Ganesh Karnik. A team under Dr Sumanth Shenoy cleaned Sharavu Temple premises. Second team led by Dr Aditya Bhat cleaned P M Rao Road. Other two teams led by MLC cleaned GHS Road.

A portion of railings on the Ganapati High School (GHS) Road that were out of place were set right and a fresh coat of paint was given. The damaged signboard was replaced with a new one.

Volunteers cleared the weed that had grown along the pavement of the road leading to Sharavu Temple. Similarly weeds and waste piled up along the P.M. Rao Road and the G.H.S Road were cleared. Posters pasted on the walls on these roads were also removed. Rathnakar Bannady from Ganapathi PU College and activist Suresh Shetty took part in the cleanliness drive.
