269 fresh Covid-19 cases in DK; Udupi single-day tally drops to 3

Mangaluru, July 25, 2021: Dakshina Kannada district recorded 269 fresh Covid-19 positive cases on Saturday. With this the total cases recorded in the district rose to 98,208.

239 More Covid patients discharged on Saturday, taking the total number of recoveries to 94,711. The district has 2,105 active cases. A total of 1,392 deaths have occurred so far, including 4 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Dakshina Kannada has so far reported 24 deaths owing to black fungus (mucormycosis). Of them, six are from Dakshina Kannada and 18 from other districts. The district had 23 active black fungus cases. Of them seven are from Dakshina Kannada and 16 from other districts. As many as 40 patients who had contracted it have been discharged after treatment.

Udupi disrict has reported only three new cases on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to 68,780, out of which 651 are currently active.

As many as 101 patients were discharged on Saturday, taking the total number of recoveries to 67,619.

A total of 409 deaths have occured so far in the Udupi district. Three more patients who had contracted black fungus (mucormycosis), which is not communicable, have died in a private hospital in Udupi district. With this, the death toll due to black fungus in the district has touched five.
