204 new Covid-19 positive cases in DK; 213 cases in Udupi on July 31

Mangaluru, July 31, 2020: 204 people from Dakshina Kannada and 213 people from Udupi tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, July 31, 2020. Five more Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in DK district today.

Amongst the five deceased in DK were, three men aged 47, 63 and 75 years from Mangaluru, 75-year-old male from Bantwal and a 88-year-old female from Davanagere.  As many as 70 patients were discharged from hospital today.

Among the 204 who tested positive in DK, 63 with influenza-like illness (ILI), 14 with SARI symptoms, 75 are primary contacts of other positive patients and contacts of 52 are being traced. With this the total Covid 19 positive cases in the DK district rose to 5,713. As many as 2,631 persons have been discharged and 2,929 cases are currently active. 155 deaths have occurred including 5 deaths today.

Udupi district has reported 248 fresh cases on Friday. Now, the Udupi has a total of 4,356 cases with 1,805 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 2,522 patients recovered and discharged including 77 discharges today. The district has reported 29 COVID-19 fatality.
