20 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death in DK, Udupi reports 5 new infections

Mangaluru, Jan 16, 2021:     Dakshina Kannada district recorded 20 fresh Covid-19 cases on Saturday, taking the total cases in the district to 33,394.

 
The district has 396 active cases undergoing treatment at hospitals, Covid care centres and in home isolation. As many as 41 patients were discharged in the district.

 

A total of 733 deaths have occurred so far, including 1 on Saturday.

 

As many as 5,42,968 samples have been tested in Dakshina Kannada district so far. The officials have booked 24,322 mask violation cases in the district and collected a fine of 25,65,845 so far.

Udupi

As many as 5 people were found infected with Covid-19 in Udupi, taking the total number of cases in the district to 23,218 as on Saturday.

As many as 19 patients were discharged in the district, while there are 27 active cases.

A total of 189 deaths have occured so far in the district.
