Kundapur, July 11, 2016: Two youth have been admitted to hospital with serious injuries after they were allegedly attacked by a gang which was reportedly instigated by the former president of Siddapur Gram Panchayat on July 9, Saturday night.
The attack followed a minor accident on July 9 evening when a car in which five youth were travelling was proceeding show on a foggy hilly road on their return from Hosangady Chandikamba Temple. It is learnt, at this juncture, their Ford car was hit by a Duster car in which the ex-GP Chief Sadananda Bhandary and another person Sudhir Shetty alias Pappu were travelling. There was an altercation between the youth and the duo and finally Sudhir pacified the youth who moved ahead. However, when the car reached Siddapur over 100 people waylaid the car and attacked the two.
The duo who are undergoing treatment in the hospital have alleged that the assaulters have also robbed them of their gold chains and rings.
Shankernarayana Police are investigating the case.
