Sources said the girls had left home  on Tuesday to have lunch at the Mahalingeshwara Temple at Heroor from where  the girls were last seen sitting  near the  Community Hall at Pamboor in the evening.

Locals however suspect a young man named Raghavendra who worked as a mason for  one Nagaraj since the past one and a half months. It is said Raghavendra was frequently seen talking with the girls. With the youth too missing, the needle of suspicion is naturally on him, say locals.

In the meantime, even Raghavendra’s employer Nagaraj and his wife have  left the town after locking their house.

Shirva police are investigating the office. Even officials of the Women and Child Welfare Committee  have visited the spot as both the missing girls are minors.
