2 sisters injured as compound wall caves in on house at Kannur

Mangalore, June 12, 2014:  Two sisters sustained injuries  when the compound wall   came crashing down on their house at HS Nagar, Kannur  during the early hours of June 12, Thursday.

The mishap took place at around 2.30 am  when the  two girls and other family members were fast asleep. The siblings Sunaina (18) and Shamashad (16) were injured when a wall of the house caved in and fell over them.

 As the house  was located in an interior area, the girls had to be virtually carried for nearly half a kilometre upto the main road before taking them in a vehicle to Wedlock Hospital.

 The father of the girls Yasin works as a labourer  and the family  had shifted to the rented house at Kannr just three months ago. 

Local Corporator Sudhir Shetty and other MCC officials visited the spot.
