2 shops destroyed in Kinnigoli market fire

Kinnigoli, July 28, 2012 : The Kinnigoli market, located in Panchayat Lane Building near SCDCC Bank, caught fire at around 12:50 a.m. on July 28, Saturday. Two shops have been completely destroyed and one shop has been partially destroyed.

 

 

 

The security guard of Anugraha Jewellers first noticed the fire and called the fire fighting personnel and the police.

The destroyed shops were a vegetable shop belonging to Venkappa and a fruit shop belonging to Shettigar. Mr. Venkappa also lost Rs. 30,000, which he had borrowed from a bank to pay off his debts, in the fire.

The fire caused a total loss of Rs. 2 lakhs.

Reportedly, the fire was caused by a short circuit. The local people helped the fire fighting personnel and the police to bring the fire under control.
