2 Konkani Health Books by Dr. Edward Nazareth Released

Two Konkani health books, “Bhalaikechem Jathan” and “Kalokanthli Savalan,” written by Dr. Edward Nazareth were released in Fr. Muller Conference Hall on October 2. Dr. Nazareth is an award-winning Konkani writer, health columnist on Daijiworld, and Konkani activist.

Fr. Patrick Rodrigues, director of Fr. Muller Institutions, released “Bhalaikechem Jathan”; and Roy Castelino, the president of Konkani Prachara Sanchalan, released “Kalokanthli Savalan.”

Chairman of Konkani Sahitya Academy, Narayan Kharvi, was the chief guest at the function. 

Mr. Kharvi said that the books are a great “gift to the entire Konkani-speaking community.” Fr. Rodrigues said that social awareness can be created if these books reach every nook and corner of society. He lauded the doctor’s efforts in writing health books in spite of his busy schedule. 

The parish priest of Cascia, Fr. Vincent Victor Menezes, spoke about the books. The program was compered by the doctor’s sons Nithin and Naveen; and the vote of thanks was proposed by his wife, Dr. Nelly Nazareth.
