12 new Covid-19 positive cases in DK, 14 cases in Udupi on June 24

Mangaluru, June 24, 2020: Twelve people from Dakshina Kannada and fourteen people from Udupi tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, June 24.

Among the 12 new cases in Dakshina Kannada, eight men and four women. Four among them are Sharjah returnees, one with severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) and seven with influenza like illness (ILI) symptoms have tested positive.

With this the total positive cases in the DK district rose to 465, including 10 persons from other districts. As many as 256 persons have been discharged and ten deaths have occurred, including a death of 59-year-old woman today.

Udupi district has reported 14 positive cases on Wednesday. Among them 9 are Maharashtra returnees, one person travelled from Bengaluru, three people contracted infection from P-3851 and the source of infection of one more patient is yet to be traced. 

Now, the Udupi district has a total of 1102 cases with 108 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 978 patients recovered and discharged. The district has reported two COVID-19 fatality.
