Mangaluru, April 08, 2021: State Minister for Panchayatraj and Rural Development K S Eshwarappa has said that a 100 day long Jalashakti Abhiyan will be held with the objective of prioritizing water conservation in all assembly constituency units of the state. The campaign will be launched at Hubballi on April 9, he said.
The Minister was speaking to reporters after participating in a progress review meet of his department at the ZP Meeting Hall on April 7, Wednesday. As part of the Jalashakti Abhiyan, development and rejuvenation of lakes, rejuvenation of canals, desilting, planting saplings in areas adjacent to the lakes, soak pit construction, multi arch check dam construction, rainwater harvesting, and such other programmes would be initiated, the Minister said.
