’Suli,’ Kannada movie release in city Friday May 27, tomorrow

Mangaluru, May 26, 2016: Addressing media in Mangaluru on May 25, Wednesday, Srinath, who is playing the lead role in the film, ‘Suli’, Kannada movie produced by Deeya Communications Private Ltd, will be released in Mangaluru  on Friday May 27 (tomorrow).

Srinath, who is playing the lead role in the film went on to say that the story, screenplay and direction are done by P H Vishwanath. The movie is produced by Geetha Srinath and T S Sathyanarayana. Latha is the executive producer.

He further said that he is doing a lead role after 23 years. “The story is about a man named Budensabi, who lives in a hilly region with his family of wife and three daughters, along with 12 donkeys. He is concerned about marrying off his elder daughter, who is cannot speak, as he cannot marry off his other daughters otherwise. The family, however, are now happy as the marriage of the first two daughters will be held, but, later they fall into hardship. This is symbolically called ‘Suli’, or the whirlpool,” he explained and added that the character of Budensabi which he is enacting in the film, is one of his best roles.

R Manjunath has done the camera work, S P Venkatesh has provided the score, Chennakeshava and Na Da Shetty have written the dialogues. There are five songs in the film and are sung by Ankit Sharma and Prateeksha. Pragathi, Jayaram Neenasam, Susheela, Adviti, Ashwiti, Channakeshava, Manjunath Chinakuruli, Lingaraja and others are in the cast. The shooting was done for 31 days in the picturesque locations of Kalasa in Chikkamagaluru, he said.

Srinath revealed that he has plans to direct a film in future and also has a story in mind. Puttanna Kanagal is an inspiration to him, he added. Producer Geetha Srinath was present at the press meet.
