’Salumarada Thimmakka’ based documentary film released

Mangaluru, Sep 17, 2019: A documentary on environmentalist Salumarada Thimmakka — ‘Salumaragala Kavya - Thimmakka’ was released at Nuthana Ravindra Mantapa, MGM College,in the city.

The documentary is directed by H P Raviraj Hegde and written by writer Karthiyayani Kunjibettu. The voiceover is by Avinash Kamath and editing is by Hari Kiran Thunga.

An image of Thimmakka depicted on Rubik’s Cubes by artist Mahesh Malpe, was unveiled on the occasion.

Raviraj said, “We had visited places associated with Salumarada Thimmakka for shooting the documentary.” The documentary is 24-minute long and covers Thimmaka’s life -  from her childhood to receiving the Padma Sri award.

The members of various organisation felicitated Thimmakka and her son Umesh.

Thimmakka inaugurated Samskrithi Vishwa Prathishthana and unveiled Bhavana Keremata’s children’s play ‘Bimbadolagina Artha.’
