Mangaluru, Jan 18, 2019: Nrityaangan is organizing ’SAMARPAN 2019’ – this is the sixth edition, in Mangaluru. This classical dance festival is scheduled to be held at Don Bosco Hall, Balmatta Road, Mangaluru on January 19 and 20 evening. The event will be inaugurated by Guru Smt. Geetha Saralaya,Director, Nrithya Bharathi, Kadri, Mangaluru. Established and budding artistes will perform on stage.
January 19 : Bharatanatyam Duet performance , Dr. Janaki Rangarajan (USA) – Bharatanatyam, Sarita Mishra (Bengaluru) – Odissi, Anu Bhava Sankamar (Mangaluru).
January 20 : Bharatanatyam, Performance , Meera Sreenarayanan (Mumbai). Niyathi HK (Kundapura) .
Department of Kannada & Culture, Bengaluru and Karnataka Bank are supporting the event. Open to all interested.
Artiste Profiles :
Anu & Bhava Sankamar are the twin daughters of Dr. Ganesh Sankamar and Smt. Jayanthi Amin. They have been learning Bharatanatyam at Natyaradhana Kalakendra, Urwa, for the past 15 years under the able direction and guidance of their Guru, Smt. Sumangala Rathnakar. Anu & Bhava have performed at various prestigious venues in and around Mangaluru. They present the inaugural Bharatanatyam recital at SAMARPAN 2019.
Sarita Mishra, is one of the leading Odissi dancer among the new generation of Odissi dancers. Since the age of four dance is a way of life to her. Her undying and undisturbed passion for dance made her a true artist from the very tender age. Dance for Sarita is always a beautiful way of communication. Her sublime lyrical grace and technical minute details make her dance unique. Sincerity, hard work and dedication are the key words that shaped Sarita’s dance journey from the beginning. Apart from performing at various prestigious venues across India, Sarita has extensively performed in the Latin American countries and the USA. She has also conducted Odissi workshops for the students of dance in these countries. Sarita is a graded artiste of the DD.
