’Ravana Leela’ by MIT’s Aaina Dramatics wins at Mood Indigo-2015

Udupi, dec 29,2015 :  The Aaina Dramatics cultural troupe of  Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT)  which presented the ballet  ’Ravana Leela’  has won the first place in the  Mood Indigo 2015, the biggest cultural fest of Asia organised by Mumbai IIT recently. The ballet was staged at the National  Centre for Performing Arts of Mumbai,’Ravana Leela’ was   presented under  the guidance of Udupi Yakshagana Kendra. Pallav Singh, one of the Members of Aaina Dramatics says the encouragement by Director Dr GK Prabhu and Student Affairs Co-Director Dr Veena Maben has been a pillar of strength of the team  and a great morale booster. He also states that five strong teams had  qualified for the final round.

 Mood Indigo-2015

The Ravana Leela team had 12 members including nine actors, a director, assistant director and  sound and lighting manager. Apart from Pallava Singh, other team members are Abhinav Grover, Khushi Goenka, Kush Tiwari, Dheeraj Vadhvani, Sooyansh Mishra, Seevanth Kushal, Prateek Uppala, Sankalpa Kumar, Sehaj Gambhir, Venumadhava Bhatta and Uday Pandit.

Runner-up in short film contest: In the short film contest named  ’Directra’ the MIT team bagged the runner up position for its presentation "The Last Class" scripted by a student named Punith Maram. Kunal Bhas and Neeraj Mohan were the Producers while the main star cast included Pallava Singh, Abhinav Grover and Seevanth Kushal.
