’Mathe Dhokha Beda’: Documentary highlighting Yettinahole flaws

Mangaluru, Jan 21, 2016: The protests against Yettinahole project will use the visual media better in  a new turn with activists of Dakshina Kannada all set to join hands with people Kolar and Chikkaballapura.

Leaders, who fight against Yettinahole project including Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and others, have already held preliminary meetings with people of Kolar district. Activists from Bayaluseeme including Dr Madhu Seethappa, who is a  UK based ophthalmic surgeon, and Lakshmipathi Kolar have conducted an in depth study of the Yettinahole project area and released a documentary - ’Mathe Dhokha Beda’. Activists from Dakshina Kannada are now gearing up to hold joint protests in association activists of Bayaluseeme who are of the view the  Yettinahole project is a flawed scheme.

MP Nalin stated that a meeting with activists of Kolar has resolved to take the fight forward jointly. "Discussion with activists of Kolar, who are apprehensive about Yettinahole project have moved forward. They are convinced that the project will not yield results as per the plans of Karnataka government. A team of activists and experts from Kolar have conducted a detailed study in Yettinahole project area. Their studies find several lacunae in the Yettinahole project and they have made all details into a digital documentary," Nalin said adding that very soon a meeting will be held to chalk out plans to intensify the fight against Yettinahole project jointly.

MP Nalin said that the documentary - ’Mathe Dhokha Beda’ exposes the level of corruption in the administration. "I have watched the documentary that explains well how Yettinahole project is being implemented without any firm  basis. We will make efforts to give more publicity for the documentary and also will invite activists other regions to join our movement," said Nalin, who held several protests including a padayatra from Mangaluru to Yettinahole project area.
