The 11th edition of Kanaka Keerthana was held at the Government First Grade College, Car Street, and organised by the Centre for Research on Kanakadasa, Mangalore University.

Among the renditions that swayed the audience was ‘Yeenu Illa Yeredu Dinada Samsaara’ rendered by second year B.Com student Akhila Panjimannu from Vivekananda College, Puttur.  “Such rendition takes one above from the self. This feeling, which Dasa Keertana gives, helps in building a society by breaking the barries of caste and religion,” said B. Shivarama Shetty, director of the centre.

‘Yaatake Dayamaadalolle Rangayya’ by Vijeth Ullal, II year Pre-University student from St. Aloysius College, also took the audience’s breath away.  With a slight change in rendition, Stuti S. Prabhu from Alva’s PU College and Grishma Kini from Bharati College captivated the audience with their presentation of ‘Neenu Apeeksheya Maade Beere Gati Yaar Yenage’.  All present enjoyed the programme very much.
