’Halloween scare’ to grip city too

Mangaluru, Oct 29, 2017: Halloween is celebrated on October 31 every year, where unique parties mostly spooky in nature take centre stage with food, music and dance. Mangaluru which has a high share of student community wowing the American styles has fallen for this western doing as well.

Celebrations in the city before  were more in the private domain,  but it has come in to the public arena now.  Many events in several restaurants and pubs in city, as well student community in Manipal the education hub.


Halloween Party


A ’Halloween Party- Scary Food and Dangerous Music’ is happening at Pupkins Kitchen in Bejai today Oct 29,Sunday. As the theme says there will be nine course meal, some of the menus are scary in nature but easy on tummy says Sonia Rodrigues, curator of the event. Hosted at a culinary studio, the events will take limited guests.

The scary menu is said to be items like,  Black Magic (welcome drink), mummified sausages, Dracula bloodshot (soup  syringes), who burnt the city, squid ate the chicken, zombie mummy drink and dinner ends with burning man, a dessert made out rum soaked chocolate cake.

Meanwhile, pubs and lounges have arranged Halloween with costume night on October 31. Last Stop Lounge in Forum Fiza Mall has invited DJ Liloo Kisha from St Petersburg to play for the night.

Whereas Retox Lounge in Balmatta Road has organised Halloween costume night where one can dress in their favourite characters,  that  will have exclusive Halloween themed party with Halloween pumpkin carving or a jack-o’-lantern, cookies named as graveyard and ghost city (sweets).

Meanwhile, students town in Manipal too geared up to celebrated Halloween with some exciting events, says Jeswin Mascarenhas, a student.
