’Chithra’ a taboo love story - telefilm release Aug.17

Mangalore, Aug 17, 2014: Addressing a press conference, Director Srikanth Y R said that Chithra is a taboo love story between a city boy Deepak (Manik) and a village girl Chithra (Shilpa J M) in a village. It portrays the intricacies of love along with the twist of fate. “At first, we also thought of uploading the movie in You Tube, but later we thought something more is in the movie and decided to release through TV channels,” he said.

Mangalorean, Actor cum Producer Manik Mascarenhas, a business graduate from St Aloysius College completed his final grade in individual acting and Shakespeare from Trinity Guild Hall London (Mangalore) has acted in many plays. Director Srikanth spotted him in the play Ramayana. “This is a Rs 2.5 lakh project. I had earned some amount, remaining was managed through personnel loan. There are many young talents in City are interested in movie making, but they are not getting opportunity,” he said.
